Construction Site Security
Trained fire watch guards
Trained guards who patrol for fire risks and safety hazards and report them immediately. Hillcrest provides fire watch for construction sites, warehouses and buildings across Surrey, Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, on as little as 2 hours' notice.

When you need fire watch
Fire watch means a trained person whose job is to patrol your property, look for fire risks and raise the alarm immediately if something is wrong. It is commonly needed when a fire alarm or sprinkler system is out of service, during hot work such as welding or roofing, or on construction sites where fire protection is not yet in place.
If your insurer, property manager or the local fire department has asked for fire watch, we can usually have a guard on site quickly. Our guards follow a set patrol route, check the areas you specify, and keep a log of every round.
Our personnel are trained in hazard identification and risk assessment, emergency response procedures and First Aid and CPR, so they know what to look for and what to do if something happens.
What our fire watch guards do
Regular rounds of the building or site, looking for smoke, heat, sparks and other signs of fire.
Spotting blocked exits, stored combustibles, leaks and other safety hazards.
Alerting occupants, calling emergency services and contacting your team immediately if a fire is found.
A written log of every patrol, with times, areas checked and anything found.
Guards trained in First Aid, CPR and emergency response procedures.
Our own dispatch centre supports every fire watch post around the clock.
